Kevin Sumlin has been able to build great quarterbacks since his days at Houston. As most expect, the QB production will go down because the exit of Johnny Manziel. This however, is not because of a lack of QB talent, but a massive loss of WR talent and experience. Of the 40 TD catches from last year, only 10 return to this year's squad. Including super star Mike Evans, three of the top four receivers are gone from a potent offense. If the below-average defenses of the past do not improve, the Aggies will not be able to keep up in most of the shootouts they played part of lately. That inexperienced offense will be tested very early in the first game of the season when they visit conference foe South Carolina, who consistently brings a tough defense. Texas A&M shouldn't struggle with any of their non-conference games, so a bowl game should be a given. This team isn't much worse from last year's crew, but in the SEC any small margin can make a huge difference and it might be hard to repeat the success of the previous two seasons.
