Let me first start off by saying I have never picked so many teams to go undefeated in my preseason predictions before. Last year I picked one, Louisville. The Cardinals went 12-1 with a three point loss to UCF. I still do not believe there will be five undefeated teams this season (Alabama, Florida State, Oregon, Oklahoma, Marshall). If there was though, wouldn't it just be fate that this was the first year of a playoff? It really would be poetic. There are a handful of teams this year who have a decent shot at making the playoff.

 

Here are five teams that have the best chance to replace these four in the College Football Playoff:

Georgia (12-1)

Michigan State (11-2)

North Carolina (11-2)

Boise State (12-1)

UCLA (10-3)

 

There are another eight teams that have great talent, but a smaller chance of being selected:

Central Florida (11-1)

Ohio State (10-2)

USC (10-2)

South Carolina (10-2)

Wisconsin (10-3)

Baylor (10-2)

Marshall (12-0)

Ole Miss (9-3)
